COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A man has died after he was shot in the parking lot of a Columbia restaurant.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said 28-year-old Wayne A. Bell of Columbia died at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital around 3:40 a.m. Sunday.
Police said Bell was trying to break up a fight at a Waffle House about an hour earlier when he was shot.
Police say 35-year-old Eric Nixon has been charged with murder. He’s being held in the Richland County jail. It was not known if he has an attorney.
