SOUTH PARK, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a man was found dead following a long standoff during which they say he fired shots and set fire to his residence.

South Park police said a woman told police at about 4 p.m. Monday that her 37-year-old husband had threatened her and any police officers he might encounter.

Chief Dennis McDonough said officers tried to get him to come out, but he refused - and at one point fired shots but didn’t appear to be aiming at anyone.

McDonough said the man later set fire to the town house and police lost contact with him at about 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers and firefighters entered, put out the first-floor blaze and found 37-year-old Daniel Wang dead on the second floor. An autopsy is planned.
