JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Alabama authorities are searching for an armed robbery suspect accused of shooting at law-enforcement officers in Calhoun County.

Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade says the suspect, 45-year-old Charles Williams, fired at officers who were pursuing him late Wednesday in Jacksonville.

Multiple media outlets report that nobody was injured in the shooting.

The suspect’s relatives told investigators that he had robbed them at gunpoint of guns and ammunition.

Wade says Williams tried to run over a deputy with his vehicle and shot at officers who confronted him. The suspect fled into a wooded area after the shooting.
