COVENTRY, R.I. (AP) - A Rhode Island man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a snowplow in Coventry.

Coventry police say 34-year-old resident William Fallon was taken into custody late Wednesday. He’s accused of striking 19-year-old Matthew O’Gara as he walked along a road in the early morning hours on Monday.

Police say Fallon fled the scene. O’Gara died at the hospital. Colonel John MacDonald said detectives investigated more than 100 hundred leads in 48 hours to apprehend Fallon.

Fallon is set to be arraigned Thursday afternoon at Kent County District Court in Warwick on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. His lawyer didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment.
