STRAFFORD, Mo. (AP) - A man driving a tractor-trailer was arrested after a fatal crash on Interstate 44 near Strafford.
The Springfield News-Leader (https://sgfnow.co/2lSNCFh ) reports that the man was booked into the Greene County jail after being arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter. He hasn’t been formally charged.
The crash Thursday resulted in the death of 43-year-old David Lambeth.
According to the crash report, the tractor-trailer failed to slow as it approached a stretch of roadway where previous crashes had forced westbound traffic to slow.
Highway Patrol spokesman Jason Pace says the diver tried to swerve but ended up overturning into the median and eventually onto Lambeth’s eastbound vehicle.
The report says the impact pushed Lambeth’s vehicle into another tractor-trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
