JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Jacksonville authorities are investigating the death of a University of North Florida student whose body was found six days after he went missing.

The Florida Times-Union reports (https://goo.gl/pCfv3b ) the body of 20-year-old George Louissaint Jr. was found in a retention pond about a mile from the university, where Louissaint was last seen at a party.

Louissaint called his sister at 3 a.m. Feb. 12 and wasn’t heard from again. UNF police and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office launched a search, but Louissant’s body wasn’t found until a passerby spotted the partially submerged body Saturday morning.

Police earlier in the week used sonar to search the pond.

Investigators found no signs of trauma to the body, which they said appeared to have been in the pond “for quite some time.”
