ANALYSIS/OPINION:

The Russian spyship controversy is fake news. Russian spy ships have been off the coast of Connecticut as well as other locations along our coast for 70 years. They are constantly monitoring the comings and goings of our nuclear submarines.

We do, in large part, utilize different methods but everyone in the submarine community knows that we do the exact same thing to Russia, China and North Korea. We reduced the use of spy ships after the USS Pueblo was captured by North Korea in 1968.

The spy ships were there during the eight years President Obama was in office, so what is the reason for the ‘trumped’-up excitement over the spy ship now? Obviously, it’s to make President Trump look bad. It’s fake news from fake news organizations.
