RIDGELAND, S.C. (AP) - Jasper County deputies say they have some people they want to talk to after a 32-year-old man was shot to death near Ridgeland.

Deputies told media outlets that Lamar Heyward died at a hospital shortly after officers found him shot in the abdomen around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators say they have a few people they want to interview about the killing, but haven’t made any arrests.

Deputies also didn’t say why Heyward might have been shot.
