MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The man killed in a weekend fire in Montgomery County has been identified as 99-year-old Ganzell Jenkins.
The Montgomery Advertiser reports (https://on.mgmadv.com/2lCFBU4) that Jenkins was killed in a Saturday blaze that destroyed his home.
Scott Pilgreen, Alabama’s fire marshal, said foul play is not suspected.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Capt. Trent Beasley said the blaze was reported shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday. Beasley said the home burned for about three and a half hours, though the fire was mostly out after the first hour.
