BANGOR, Maine (AP) - A Maine man has pleaded guilty to receiving over $157,000 in Social Security disability payments for over a decade.

Prosecutors say 54-year-old Daniel Fitzsimmons, of Whiting, was required to certify that he could no longer perform “substantial gainful work” and reported very low annual earnings between 2002 and 2013. They said an investigation showed he was actively and consistently engaged in commercial fishing over that period.

Fitzsimmons, who pleaded guilty in federal court in Bangor, will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation.
