MOUNT TABOR, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont woman has been arrested in her husband’s shooting death in December.

State police say 51-year-old Peggy Shores is facing a charge of second-degree murder in the Dec. 11, 2016, death of 54-year-old David Shores, Sr. at his residence in Mount Tabor.

She was arrested Wednesday in Manchester, Vermont, and was being held at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail.

It was not immediately known if she is being represented by an attorney.

Police say the investigation revealed forensic evidence that David Shores Sr. was shot by another person and that Peggy Shores was the only other person in the house at the time of the shooting.

Police said Thursday they executed another search warrant at the Shores’ residence as part of the investigation.
