Judge sets $500,000 bond for man accused of killing mother

CENTRE, Ala. (AP) - A judge has set bond for $500,000 for a man accused of killing his 68-year-old mother in northeast Alabama.

The Gadsden Times reports (https://bit.ly/2mfNdgr ) that 48-year-old Larry Bodily remains jailed in Cherokee County on charges of murder and third-degree theft.

He was charged Sunday after the body of his mother, Karen R. Willmon, was found. Court records show that he’s also accused of stealing a credit card and a guitar from her.

Cherokee County Chief Investigator Josh Summerford, the preliminary autopsy report indicated that she died from multiple gunshot wounds and blunt force head trauma.
