CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says one person has been injured in an officer-involved shooting in Hamilton County.
The TBI said in a news release that Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a burglary at a home east of Chattanooga on Friday and heard shots being fired inside.
The release said a man identified as 34-year-old Matthew Paupp came outside, where police said initial reports indicate he was holding a weapon and pointed it at deputies.
The release said one deputy, who wasn’t identified, fired at Paupp and hit him. Paupp was in stable condition at a local hospital.
No law enforcement officers were injured.
