ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A Hendersonville man has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for the shooting death of a man at an Asheville apartment complex in 2015.
The Asheville Citizen-Times reported (https://avlne.ws/2k1edvw) reported that 31-year-old Kelvin Irabor was convicted Thursday of second-degree murder. Irabor was also convicted of firing into an occupied property and assault with a deadly weapon.
Superior Court Judge Robert Sumner sentenced Irabor to between 21 and 27 years in prison.
Twenty-year-old Dondre Nelson died at Mission Hospital in Asheville on Oct. 10, 2015. An autopsy showed Nelson died from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Witnesses said the men got into an argument and Irabor pulled a gun and fired. The two men knew each other.
