Man shot to death in Garden City, woman charged

GARDEN CITY, S.C. (AP) - Horry County officials have released the name of a man shot to death at his home in Garden City.

Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler says 43-year-old Paul Smith was shot around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. He died a short time later at Waccamaw Hospital.

A woman found next to the victim, 43-year-old Heidi Christina Smith, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. She was being held in the Horry County jail Thursday. It was not known if she has an attorney.

Police have not released a motive in the shooting.
