CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (AP) - The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two people killed in Mammoth.

Mark Reynoso, 34, and Maria Desantiago, 28, were shot to death at an apartment on Tuesday.

Sheriff’s officials say they believe Desantiago and Reynoso were a couple. They were both found shot in the back of the head.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident as a double homicide. Spokeswoman Paula Pollock said the investigation is ongoing and no additional information would be released from the sheriff’s office at this time.

Reynoso was awaiting trial for manslaughter charges tied to a vehicle crash that killed three people on Jan. 30, 2015.

Reynoso had been driving a pickup truck headed north on State Route 77 when he crossed into the southbound lane. A van switched from the southbound lane to the northbound lane to avoid Reynoso, but the pickup switched back to the northbound lane and the two vehicles collided. Rodger Fugett, Francisco Calzadillas and Troy Brownrigg II were killed in the crash.

According to court records, Reynoso was scheduled to appear in Pinal County Superior Court on March 10 for proceedings related to the three manslaughter counts against him.
