BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Heavy rains overnight caused some street flooding in southern Mississippi.
Hancock County Emergency Management Agency Director Brian Adam tells WLOX-TV (https://bit.ly/2hZWhjJ ) the deluge caused some street flooding but the water is receding. He warned motorists to turn around if they see water over the road.
Heavy rains Sunday night made it a damp New Year’s Eve. And more rain is coming.
The National Weather Service reports one to five inches of rain could fall between Sunday and Monday evening in parts of southern Louisiana and Mississippi. Most of the rain is expected Monday.
Harrison County Emergency Management Director Rupert Lacy tells The Sun Herald ( https://bit.ly/2hDGt5r ) that a flood warning is in effect until Monday.
He says they are monitoring the Tchoutacabouffa, Biloxi and Wolf rivers.
