HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Bond has been denied for a man indicted for capital murder in the death of an infant in south Mississippi.

The Hattiesburg American (https://hatne.ws/2iXXauI ) reported Tuesday that 28-year-old Ryan Timothy Dykes is accused of killing nine-month-old Jada Freeman. Dykes was indicted by a Forrest County grand jury after being arrested Jan. 3.

Dykes will remain in jail without bond until the outcome of his trial. He also faces felony child abuse.

The infant’s mother, Kaily Rose Csaszar, was indicted for manslaughter and felony neglect of a child.

The indictment states Dykes struck the infant in the face or head. She was taken to the local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
