YUMA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a man whose body was recovered from a Yuma canal in a case being investigated as a suspicious death.

Yuma police say officers were dispatched to the canal on Monday afternoon.

They say a person out for a run near the canal spotted the body and notified authorities.

The Yuma Police Department Dive Team was called out and recovered the body.

Police announced Wednesday that the 28-year-old man has been identified as Daniel Gonzalez.

They say the case remains under investigation.
