PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police say a man leaving a Chinese takeout restaurant has shot and wounded a man who tried to rob him as he left the business.

Police aren’t identifying either man yet following the incident about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in the city’s Olney section.

Police say the restaurant customer has a license to carry a weapon and remained at the scene after the shooting. The robbery suspect has been taken to a hospital in stable condition with wounds, including one the leg.

Police say the customer told them he fired in self-defense after the 19-year-old robbery suspect accosted and chased him.
