MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) - Prosecutors say a former New York City paralegal and her husband have been arrested in Las Vegas and charged with embezzling more than $900,000 from a Long Island construction company.

Newsday reports (https://nwsdy.li/2ig7cdd ) 53-year-old Linda Minervini and 37-year-old Thomas Cacaci Jr. are facing multiple felonies including grand larceny and criminal possession of forged instruments.

Prosecutors say the couple stole $913,000 from a Lynbrook construction company where Minervini worked by falsifying claims between October 2009 and November 2015.

Nassau County prosecutors say the couple spent the money on a time share, cars, airline tickets, hotels, household furnishings and legal fees.

Minervini was fired after the company’s office manager became suspicious in November 2015. The couple has since relocated to Nevada.

An attorney for the couple couldn’t be reached for comment.
