PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police have been searching for a handcuffed suspect who smashed out a rear window of a police cruiser and ran away.

Police aren’t naming the man who escaped in the city’s Summerdale section about 5 a.m. Friday.

Police say the man was arrested and held on some previous arrest warrants for unspecified crimes after his vehicle collided with one driven by an off-duty state trooper. Investigators haven’t said whether either man was hurt.

Police say the suspect is a black man wearing a silky green top and handcuffs. City police dogs were assisting in the search.
