SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Authorities say a semitrailer sent a snowplow tumbling off a snowy canyon highway and down a steep embankment in a Utah crash captured on a dramatic video.

Tow truck driver Lemalie Laulu said Friday that he’s seen a lot on the state’s roadways, but nothing like the accident his dashboard camera recorded in Spanish Fork Canyon.

Utah transportation officials say the semi was trying to pass the snowplow on Thursday when it clipped the plow, sending the heavy vehicle across oncoming traffic, off the road and down a 300-foot embankment.

The plow driver was hurt but is expected to recover. The semi driver was cited for illegal passing and leaving his lane.

Authorities say it’s the fourth accident involving a snowplow in the state so far this year.
