Donald Trump’s persistent calls for better relations with Russia are already paying off — literally.

Metal workers at the Art-Grani weapons foundry in the provincial city of Zlatoust have minted a 1 kilogram silver coin to honor the American president-elect. The Tass news service, quoting a statement from the metal workers’ industry, said the coin is the first in a series honoring the Republican former real estate developer.

The coin features a head-and-shoulders image of Mr. Trump in profile against the backdrop of the American flag and bears the inscription: “Donald John Trump, the 45th President of the United States of America.”

The coin’s reverse side depicts the Statue of Liberty and reads “In Trump We Trust” and “The United States of America.”

“We have produced the first coin of the Donald Trump collection,” the foundry said its statement Wednesday. “This is a limited edition dedicated to Trump’s inauguration and will consist of 25 silver coins, 15 silver and gold coins and five gold coins.”

According to Tass, the workers at the foundry, located in south-central Russia near the industrial city of Chelyabinsk, plan to send one of the coins to Mr. Trump.

Bucking the bipartisan U.S. foreign establishment, Mr. Trump has said he does not view Russia as an enemy, has exchanged kind words with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and has said Moscow and Washington should work together in the fight against Islamic State.
