ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Winthrop’s home men’s basketball game with Pfeiffer for Monday night has been cancelled.

Winthrop athletic director Ken Halpin says the schools came to a mutual agreement to call off the game, which was scheduled for the Winthrop Coliseum. Halpin said the game with NCAA Division II Pfeiffer was originally set to be played before the Eagles got into Big South Conference play. It was moved from last November so Winthrop could take part in the Preseason NIT.

Halpin said the game fell at an “awkward spot” on the schedule for both teams and they agreed to cancel it.
