WASHINGTON (AP) - Police say the driver of a car that crashed two weeks ago in Washington has died, bringing the death toll to three people.

The Metropolitan Police Department says in a statement that 33-year-old Antonio Holroyd of Washington died early Thursday at a hospital. Tyrone Waters and Michael Waters, also from Washington, died at the scene of the crash Jan. 7 on New York Avenue.

Police say Holroyd was the driver of a Mercedes Benz that crashed as it headed toward Maryland. Police say the car went out of control and struck a traffic island and a guardrail on a bridge. Holroyd climbed out of the wreckage, but Tyrone Waters and Michael Waters were ejected from the vehicle.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
