SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Winter storm warnings, watches and advisories issued by the National Weather Service cover most of Utah.

Snowfall in most of the state is expected to diminish as Saturday progresses but authorities warn of tricky driving conditions at many locations around the state.

Media outlets reported numerous vehicle crashes in the Salt Lake City area as snowfall continued during Saturday morning.

Snowfall totals during 12 hours spanning Friday night and Saturday morning included 1 inch at the Salt Lake City airport and 12-13 inches in mountains immediately east of the city.

Forecasters say the next storm system is expected to arrive Sunday afternoon, dropping rain and snow through the first half of the coming week.
