PACIFICA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities continue to investigate the death of a San Francisco area paraglider who went down in the Pacific Ocean over the weekend.

The victim was identified by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office as 59-year-old Solomon Lee of South San Francisco.

The cause of the Saturday morning crash remains under investigation.

Lee was pulled to shore by bystanders, who administered CPR before paramedics arrived and started advanced life support measures. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told KGO-TV (https://abc7ne.ws/2iWAu14 ) that Lee had been riding air currents along the beach until he lost lift and dropped into the surf.

It was not storming at the time of the accident. However, rescue efforts were hampered because a beach access trail closed for repairs complicated their effort to reach the man.
