GRAHAM, N.C. (AP) - Alamance County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man in the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl taken from a school bus stop last year.
The department said 39-year-old Greg Daniel Overman Haw River has been charged with felony statutory rape of a child and felony sex offense with a child.
Deputies said an 11-year-old girl was taken from a bus stop near Mebane on Oct. 11 and was sexually assaulted. The girl was able to get out of the car and flag down a motorist for help.
The FBI handled the DNA testing that led to the arrest.
Overman is being held in the county jail. It was not known if he has an attorney.
