EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A grand jury has indicted a woman accused of fatally shooting a man at Alton Baker Park in Eugene.
The Register-Guard reports (https://is.gd/AZ0B9F ) 33-year-old Lacy Lyons of Eugene pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and assault at her arraignment Tuesday afternoon.
The victim, Joshua Turnage, was found dead Jan. 14 in the back seat of a Ford Explorer. Lyons was arrested about 11 hours after the discovery.
The assault charge is related to an allegation that Lyons struck Turnage in the face with a firearm up to a month before he was killed.
According to his Twitter page, Turnage was a massage therapist and author of a book of poetry. An obituary from his hometown newspaper in Mississippi says he is survived by a child in Connecticut.
