BANGOR, Maine (AP) - A Florida man has been sentenced to 3 ½ years in federal prison for making more than $48,000 in unauthorized purchases using debit and credit card account numbers from bank customers in Maine.

The judge also sentenced 28-year-old Ariel Perez-Calvo, of Miami, on Wednesday to three years of supervised release and ordered him to repay $35,000.

Federal authorities say Perez-Calvo and Roberto Lueje-Rodriguez made the unauthorized purchases in January 2016.

They used information from customers in several Maine counties, including Penobscot (peh-NAHB-skaht), Kennebec and Androscoggin.

Lueje-Rodriquez pleaded guilty in July 2016 to access device fraud and aggravated identity theft. He awaits sentencing.
