BEND, Ore. (AP) - A 21-year-old Madras man will spend nearly 3 years in prison for violating probation he received in connection to the death of his wife’s 1-year-old daughter.
The Bulletin reports (https://bit.ly/2jjaGY5 ) that on Wednesday Garry Vineyard was found guilty of a fourth-degree assault in connection to an altercation that occurred while he was on probation. Vineyard opted for a bench trial and was acquitted of strangulation and harassment. He was sentenced to 34 months in prison.
Vineyard previously pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide and criminal mistreatment in connection to the March 2015 death of Katerina Austria.
He was released on credit for time served but was ordered to serve probation with an underlying sentence of 34 to 36 months.
