NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Newark Police have arrested two men, including the resident, in a home invasion.
The department said in a news release that three men entered a home Prospect Avenue early Tuesday through an unlocked door. Police say one of the men pistol-whipped one of the residents, and all three suspects stole items from the two residents before running away.
Responding officers say they found drug paraphernalia, marijuana plants and suspected cocaine. Police charged the resident who was pistol-whipped, 23-year-old Tyler Oppel, with intent to deliver a controlled substance and other offenses.
Detectives identified a suspect in the home invasion, and arrested 23-year-old Elijah Stevens on Wednesday. He is charged with numerous offenses in the home invasion.
