WALKER, La. (AP) - Authorities suspect foul play after a woman’s body was found beneath a Baton Rouge-area highway bridge.

News outlets report that investigators believe the woman had been dead for at least a week when her body was found Wednesday morning amid tree limbs and other debris beneath the Interstate 12 bridge over West Colyell Creek in Walker.

Walker Police Capt. John Sharp says the cause of death remains undetermined pending an autopsy, but the case is being investigated as a homicide.

Investigators are reviewing several active missing person cases in Livingston Parish. No further information was immediately available.
