SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - A public transit agency has released interior surveillance video of the moment when a pickup truck smashed through the middle of a Syracuse bus last week.
The Centro bus was stopped at an intersection on the afternoon of Jan. 19 when the driver of the pickup lost control and broadsided the bus. The truck’s front end was lodged inside the bus.
The video surveillance camera mounted at the front of the bus shows a passenger facing the oncoming truck react in horror, causing a man sitting across from her to glance away from his cellphone and look over his shoulder.
The man attempted to move but was knocked across the aisle by the impact.
Police say he and other passengers and the couple in the truck suffered only minor injuries.
