ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say they charged a mother of a 2-year-old boy with child neglect after her son disappeared for nearly seven hours before being found safe.

Media outlets reported at 25-year-old Heather Knight’s bond hearing, prosecutors said they found a pipe used to smoke drugs and empty spray paint cans in the boy’s bedroom when they searched after he disappeared Friday.

A judge set bond at $50,000 for Knight after she asked him for mercy, volunteering to take a drug test any time.

Police say the boy was found unharmed several blocks from his home in Anderson around noon Friday.
