LOS ANGELES (AP) - A man convicted of stabbing a passenger to death on a Los Angeles subway train has been sentenced to 26 years to life in prison.
The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office says 27-year-old Angela Correa was sentenced Monday for the Jan. 13, 2014, killing of 33-year-old Jose Velasco.
Witnesses testified Correa was belligerent with passengers on a Red Line train, exchanged words with Velasco and then pulled out a folding knife and stabbed Velasco in the neck.
Correa was found guilty of first-degree murder on Jan. 19.
