MONTVILLE, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut State Police continue into investigate the death of a person who was shot by Montville officers during a violent confrontation at a hotel.

State police say officers responded to a disturbance at the Chesterfield Lodge at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday after getting reports of an “unwanted person” on the property.

Police asked the person to leave, but the suspect reportedly grabbed the Taser of one officer and used it to repeatedly strike the officer in the head. The officer then drew a gun and shot the suspect at least once.

The suspect was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

The Montville officer was transported to the hospital to close a laceration to the head.

No names were released.
