SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say the shooting death of a 17-year-old Spartanburg girl was an accident.

Coroner Rusty Clevenger tells local media outlets that’s his ruling on the Sept. 12, 2016 death of Anna Marie Good.

Investigators said deputies responded shortly after 8 a.m. to Hidden Park Apartments. There, responders found Goode and took her to the hospital. She was pronounced dead later in the day.

Authorities said Goode had been visiting a friend at the complex when she was shot in the torso.

Deputies say a juvenile connected to Goode’s shooting was charged days after her death with possession of a stolen gun. The gun was linked to an unrelated car break-in case, and the solicitor’s office has determined no charges would be filed for the shooting.
