ROSWELL, Ga. (AP) - The city of Roswell plans to apply for a $15,000 state grant aimed at helping communities identify and preserve historic buildings.

The grant is available from the Historic Preservation Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports (https://on-ajc.com/2jLAWy1 ) that the grant will require an equal match of $15,000 from the city.

The grant would fund the first phase of a multi-year survey project.

The city Community Development Department plans to oversee the survey of an estimated 530 resources in the Historic District and another 70 known to meet historic criteria.
