WASILLA, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers have released details of a traffic crash on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway that critically injured a woman.

Troopers say 27-year-old Virgil Rodgers of Palmer just before 7 a.m. Wednesday was driving a tow truck in front of a business, Diversified Tire, when his tire hit snow on the shoulder.

He lost control, crossed the centerline and hit a pickup nearly head on.

The driver of the pickup was 65-year-old Betty Hein of Wasilla. She was rushed to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Rodgers was not injured.
