BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Transportation officials have issued a travel alert for western North Dakota due to blowing and drifting snow.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation and the state Highway Patrol issued the alert Sunday afternoon. Dickinson and Williston are included in the alert.

Officials say motorists can still travel in those areas, but conditions can rapidly change. Motorists are advised to reduce their speed.

The National Weather Service says two rounds of accumulating snow are expected late Sunday night through Monday night across western and central North Dakota. Snowfall amounts between 2 and 4 inches are expected by Tuesday morning.
