NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say one person has died in a three-car crash on a western New York road.

Police in the city of Niagara Falls say the accident occurred around 7 p.m. Sunday when a car crossed the median on Niagara Falls Boulevard and crashed into an oncoming car. That vehicle then smashed into a third vehicle.

Police say a 53-year-old man in the first car was killed. The driver of the second car was taken to a Buffalo hospital for treatment. The person driving the third car suffered minor injuries.

Police haven’t released the names of the victims.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
