BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A flood-damaged Baton Rouge home that was under repair has been destroyed in a fire.

Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Curt Monte said in a news release that the home was engulfed in flames early Monday morning.

The Advocate (https://bit.ly/2iVAm0w ) reports that no one was inside the structure at the time of the fire. The home is considered a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Monte says the blaze did not spread to any nearby structures.
