LOWER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a couple riding a motorcycle were killed when an SUV traveling in the other direction crossed the center line and struck them.
Lower Township police say the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
The impact forced Commercial Township residents Dominick and Carol Cione off their northbound motorcycle. Both were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead a short time later.
Another motorcyclist riding alongside the Ciones was not hit by the SUV but did suffer minor injuries.
The SUV driver, 76-year-old Lower resident Daniel Cluff, was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
