ONEIDA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of the central New York married couple who died in a house fire last weekend.
Police in the Madison County city of Oneida say Pauline and James Davis, both 50, died when a blaze broke out in their duplex apartment early Saturday morning.
Officials say when firefighters arrived at the home around 2:45 a.m. they found the couple in their second-floor apartment. The first-floor apartment was vacant.
Police say the Davises were already dead when they were found. Their bodies have been taken to Syracuse for autopsies conducted by Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
