MIDDLESEX, Vt. (AP) - Vermont state police say preliminary autopsy results show the death of a woman whose body was found down an embankment in Middlesex was a homicide.
Police on Thursday identified the deceased as 59-year-old Cindy Cook of Barre, Vermont. Her body was found in a secluded area around 6 p.m. Wednesday after a resident called about the discovery.
Police say the cause of death is being investigated.
The last known contact Cook had was on July 3 when a family member spoke to her by phone. Police are looking for her vehicle. It’s described as a cream colored 2009 MINI Cooper Clubman station wagon with a black top and license plate number GBH823.
Anyone who has had contact with Cook on or after July 3 is asked to contact state police.
