CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire’s Democratic U.S. senators are not finding good news in the latest version of the health care bill released by GOP leaders.

Jeanne Shaheen said the fundamentals of the current bill haven’t changed. She says it would still drive up premium costs, eliminate protections for pre-existing conditions and make cuts to Medicaid. Shaheen said additional funding for the opioid epidemic doesn’t come close to compensating for the treatment resources that the bill eliminates.

Maggie Hassan said it is “abundantly clear” that there is no fixing the bill, and she stands ready to work with anyone who is serious about lowering health care costs.
