HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Police believe a lightning strike caused a fire at a New Jersey synagogue.
NJ.com reports (https://bit.ly/2vjRFeE ) emergency crews responded to a roof fire at Har Sinai Temple in Hopewell Thursday. The fire was extinguished around 6 p.m.
Police say all the occupants inside the temple at the time of the fire were able to evacuate the building safely.
The fire caused damage to an exterior wall and roof of the synagogue.
An investigation is ongoing.
