FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Fargo police say a man is accused of slashing the throat of a driver who gave him a ride.

Sgt. Matt Ystebo tells KFGO (https://bit.ly/2voh1bm ) that the victim and a passenger were leaving a bar early Saturday morning, they picked up a man who wanted a ride. ?

Police say the attack happened just two blocks away. An off-duty officer saw the car swerve, thinking it was probably an intoxicated driver.

Two officers arriving on scene found the injured driver and the passenger. Police say the suspect in the backseat with a knife believed to have been used to attack the driver.

Police say the victim’s injury is not life-threatening. Police say the alleged attacker did not know the people in the vehicle.
